FINAS issues a Call for Entries for films that fit the criteria to submit for the consideration of Malaysian Selection Committee at the 98th Academy Awards ® 

Film Selection Process

Responsibilities of Committee Members

All members of the selection committee should understand the nature of the position as set out in the position description and the characteristics of the person sought as described in the selection criteria.
The selection committee will available to:

Shortlists applicants
Participate in the scoring process
Provide ranked list and assessment of top candidates
Recommend preferred film for Malaysia Official Submissions
Agree on the selection methodology

Deliberations of selection committee, including all documents and correspondence considered by the committee must remain confidential.

Committee members should not discuss any aspect of the selection process with anyone other than committee members nominated referees and relevant industry players instead

Important Date

Deadline to submit to the Film Selection Committee : September 8 2025

Announcement of Malaysia Submission To The 98th : End of September 2025

Deadline for the Academy to receive all materials : October 1 2025
