Two Malaysian short films have succesfully won two awards at the 35th Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF) in South Korea which concluded last Sunday. While Aw See Wee’s critically acclaimed “Kampung Tapir” which tells the emotional journey of a couple leaving their daughter for a better living was honored with the NETPAC Award (Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema); awarded to emerging cinematic talents with exceptional films, Darrel Chia Chee Sum has bagged the Jury Prize Award for his outstanding work in short film”High Way”. Held from Apr 24-29, Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF) has been established since 1980 as a significant platform and window to introduce Korean and Asian short films to the world and vice versa.
