Malacca, Sep 28 – The CEO of FINAS, Mr. Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri had the honour exchanging views with head/representatives of film agencies, government officials, key counterparts and invited guests today attending 3rd Southeast Asian International Short Film Festival (Seashorts) Forum: What is the Role of Government Policy in Developing a Creative Film Industry? at Tun Fatimah Riverside Hotel in Malacca. Moderated by Megan Wonowidjoyo, the Head of the Foundation programme at Multimedia University‘s Faculty of Cinematic Arts, Mr. Ahmad Idham was joined by Ms. Cynthia Chong; Deputy Director at the Singapore Film Commission, a division under the Infocomm Media Development Authority – IMDA, and Ms. Ria Anne Rubia, the Officer in Charge Executive Director of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. Aimed at providing structured dialogue between policy makers and the stakeholders in the regional film industry, FINAS CEO has further elaborated on the strategic roles of FINAS in fostering talent and creativity, empowering human capital, spearheading growth and building sustainable film businesses. Organised from September 25 to September 29 by Tan Chui Mui, the Next New Wave founder and program director, this annual film festival aims to celebrate the voices of aspiring young filmmakers and to embrace into cinematic excellence of short films across Southeast Asia.
