Critically acclaimed award winning films, ‘Redha’ by Tunku Mona Riza and Saw Teong Hin’s ‘You Mean The World To Me’ have been officially selected to represent Malaysia at 8th Luang Prabang Film Festival. Gaining reputation as the Sundance of Southeast Asia, LPFF offers the showcase of 32 feature films from 10 countries from Dec 8-13, 2017 in the World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang and brings together the boldest storytellers and celebrated films in Southeast Asia. As an important event for regional filmmakers, LPFF strategically provides the network access and play irreplaceable and active roles in strengthening dialogues among different countries, nations, and cultures with plentiful opportunities for building connections with professionals from the ever-expanding Southeast Asian film industry.

Winning 8 major awards internationally in 2016, ‘Redha’, a heartwarming film celebrating love, sacrifice and rewarding journey in raising a child with autism was recently awarded with Best Actor (Nam Ron), Best New Director (Tunku Mona), Best New Actress (June Lojong) and Best Child Actor (Harith Haziq) at 29th Malaysian Film Festival (FFM29) last September. At the same festival, Saw Teong Hin’s true story on his estranged relationship with his late mother and family in ‘You Mean The World To Me’ which previously screened at the 10th Festival De Grenada Cines Del Sur in Spain and selected for the upcoming Asia Pacific Screen Award 2017 was honored with FFM29 Best Screenplay Award and Best New Actor (John Tan).
